Ligarde 2nd Graders Shine for Earth Day! 🌎🤖🌱
Ligarde Elementary’s 2nd graders did an amazing job celebrating Earth Day! They spent time learning all about our planet and why we honor it every year on April 22nd. Thanks to leaders like Senator Nelson and the millions of people working to pass environmental laws, our students are inspired to take action and share their knowledge about how to reduce, reuse, and recycle with their families and classmates.
A special thank you goes to our Webb County Commissioner, Mr. J. Gonzalez, for joining us and helping plant a beautiful tree and vibrant flowers with all of our 2nd grade students — a hands-on experience they’ll never forget!
To top it all off, our creative students explored technology by using AI tools to design their own digital Earth Day art. They proudly printed their artwork onto buttons to wear and show off how they’re helping to protect the planet.
Way to go, Ligarde 2nd graders — your creativity, teamwork, and love for the Earth are helping to #KeepLaredoBeautiful 🌍💚

LISD is celebrating Texas Public School Week! LISD is opening its 20 elementary and four middle schools for parents and guardians to visit on Wednesday, February 26, from 8:30 a.m., to 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Report cards will be issued at LISD elementary schools.
