
Nixon High School student-athletes Louie Garza, Gustavo Hernandez, and Stephanie Villalobos singed their National Letter of Intent (NLI) this afternoon.
Senior softball player Stephanie Villalobos has committed to play softball and will continue her academic and softball career at Cisco Community College in Cisco, Texas. Villalobos plans on majoring in Kinesiology.
Senior baseball player Louie Garza has committed to play baseball and will continue his academic and baseball career at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. Garza plans on majoring in Health Science and Athletic Training.
Senior baseball player Gustavo Hernandez has committed to play baseball and will continue his academic and baseball career at New River Community College in Dublin, Virginia. Hernandez plans on majoring in Business Administration.

Nixon High School senior girls’ basketball player Abigail Esparza has committed to play basketball at Elgin Community College. She signed her National Letter of Intent this morning to continue her academic and basketball career at Elgin Community College in Elgin Illinois. Abigail plans to major in nursing.

Congratulations to LISD April Student of the Month Abigail Diaz of Nixon High School. Diaz is a 9th grade student at Nixon High School and the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications.
At school, her favorite class is Spanish where she gets to learn something new every day. Abigail is a proud member of the Golden Spurs and the track and field team.
During her free time, Abigail enjoys volunteering at her church, San Martin De Porres.
She also has a passion for dancing. At VMT, Abigail is able to hone her craft in contemporary dancing. Diaz is also a student at the Laredo School of Contemporary Dance where she gets to enjoy tap, hip hop, jazz and pom.
Abigail’s main goal is to attend TAMIU and get her degree in the medical field. She hopes to pursue a career as a Radiologist.
She attended Tarver Elementary School and Lamar Middle School Abigail is the daughter of Jorge and Rebecca Diaz.
