Campus Mission

At Honoré Ligarde Elementary School, we open the door to the future by providing educational excellence, individual guidance, and equal opportunity for all.

Philosophy

We, the faculty, staff and parents of Honoré Ligarde Elementary School, believe that it is our responsibility to provide every student with an equal opportunity to achieve intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development resulting in the education of the whole child, thus, producing and educated and productive human being who possesses life-long skills.

We believe that the nucleus of any educational program must be the development of the whole student through goals which are relevant and can be attained by the student.

We believe that the American Democratic Commitment is carried forth by the school’s promotion of patriotism and loyalty to the United States and our community.

We believe that educational programs are built upon students’ interests and culture.  These serve as the foundation for building a positive self-esteem and for acquisition of academic and higher order thinking skills.

We believe that a harmonious relationship between parents, school district and community is essential in carrying out desired educational endeavors.

We believe that the development of education is a continuous process whereby teachers continue to keep abreast of current trends, research and instructional methodology by continually reevaluating their goals so that they may better teach children in this ever changing society.
